Many patients, providers and families express appreciation to us for the information resources on our website, for which we are very grateful and due to which we are even all the more committed to providing more and more content. Our goal is that if there is information available that is solid and accessible, it will empower people to make good decisions about the surgical part of their journey. Below we provided some links that have been reported to us as especially helpful.
Dr. Mosser (he/him) opened the Gender Confirmation Center in 2013 to provide the highest standards of gender affirming care for transgender patients, both nationally and globally. When Dr. Mosser first began performing gender affirming surgeries over 13 years ago, he was appalled by the lack of quality and compassionate care for transgender patients. In creating our practice, he sought to root its philosophy in centering the patient’s own experience and vision, while providing a superior level of customer service and compassion. Our office strives to empower transgender invidiuals throughout the process by ensuring the patient has a clear understanding of the entire pre-, during, and post-surgical journey. Our office seeks to achieve a shared vision with our diverse patient population. All of our doctors provide transparent recommendations and work with the patient to create realistic goals for their surgery. Each surgeon also offers a wide variety of techniques to allow patients to personalize their surgery according to their needs and preferences. Some of our patients have consented to share their results with the transgender community to provide visual context for surgical expectations. You can find these before and six days after surgery results below.

“We aspire to elevate the standards of healthcare for transgender and gender expansive patients. The existing standards are notably lower than ideal, especially for adolesce
nts and indiviudals who identify as non-binary. Our office strives to affirm patients and center their lived experience through several integrated systems such as the informed consent model. We also frequently support adolescent patients whose journeys with our practice require a few extra steps. To learn more about our standards of care, the existing WPATH standards, and additional steps for adolescent patients, please visit the links below.”

“Our office recognizes that access to medically necessary surgical care is not the only barrier to health and well-being that may exist for transgender indiviudals. Our patients often express gratitude for having friends, family, or community that can support them throughout their journey. You are welcome to visit the links below for resources on finding support groups, legal and other healthcare professionals, and mental health support for transgender youth. “

The Gender Confirmation Team is structured to smoothly facilitate your pathway to surgery. Guiding you through every step of the process, our large support team utilizes an organized and gender-affirming approach to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and centering patient experience. Prospective and current patients can communicate with our office through Klara once you have entered into our system by requesting a free virtual or in-person consultation. After your consultation, patients pursuing insurance are supported by the Insurance Advocates who submit and communicate with the insurance company on the patient’s behalf. Once approved for surgery (or if paying out-of-pocket), the Surgery Coordinators will help to secure your surgery date, and the Medical Assistants will prepare you for your pre-op, surgery day, and post-op appointments. During your recovery, the Physician Associates will also be on call to support any urgent concerns you may have. Beyond the team members dedicated to directly supporting your surgical journey, our Creative Team focuses on creating educational resources, philanthropy, and marketing.
By carefully choosing a team that believes in the importance of this work, Dr. Mosser works to create a completely different experience for his patients from the very start. Please visit the link to learn more about our office and facilities.
Our practice has grown dramatically since the start of 2020. Dr. Alexander R. Facque (/feik•wei/) (he/him) began seeing patients at the Gender Confirmation Center in October 2020, yet he had already performed over 100 surgeries at our practice alone by mid-February 2021! In addition to top surgery and body contouring, Dr. Facque also brought his expertise in facial feminization surgery to the practice. In March 2022, Dr. Ellie Zara Ley (/lay/) (she/her) joined the Gender Confirmation Center as the most compelling gender surgeon in the world. Dr. Ley provides comprehensive gender affirming surgical care and further advances the practice to yet another level.
