Transgender surgery is a highly specialized area of plastic and reconstructive surgery. For many transgender patients, it can be difficult to find an experienced and qualified surgeon locally. Dr. Mosser frequently works with out-of-town patients who are interested in pursuing male to female (MTF) and male to neutrois (MTN) breast augmentation.
Because it can be difficult and expensive for patients to fly in for the consultation process, Dr. Mosser offers the option of a virtual consultation.
MTF breast augmentation or body contouring is designed to make you feel more comfortable in your own skin. If you meet the following criteria, then you’re probably an ideal candidate for surgery:
Additional factors such as your current weight, alcohol consumption and whether you smoke may affect your candidacy for surgery. All of these factors will be discussed during your consultation to help Dr. Mosser determine if you are a good candidate for surgery.
Virtual consultations are usually conducted by phone, or in some cases video chat. A virtual consultation usually lasts about an hour, but may last longer depending on how many questions you have about surgery.
There are a few steps you will need to take in advance of your virtual consultation:
1. Complete our health information questionnaires. You can mail, email or fax them in advance of your procedure.
2. Upload photos of your chest to our secure patient communication system at https://www.remedly.com/invite/08713. To effectively evaluate your chest, Dr. Mosser will need photos of your profile (left and right), a straight on photo and 45 degree diagonal views.
A virtual consultation is typically sufficient to allow Dr. Mosser to determine if you are a good candidate for surgery. You will still need to come in for an in-person evaluation, but this can usually be done within a day or two prior to your scheduled surgery. Additionally, all necessary labs and blood tests can be done locally at your physician’s office.
All information and photos that you share with Dr. Mosser during your consultation is strictly confidential. We abide by all government rules and regulations associated with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and our staff receive continued training in this area.
We pride ourselves on providing the highest standards of ethics and integrity. If you have any questions about our privacy rules, please contact our office.
