It is normal for patients to have scabbing over their nipple grafts during the initial stages of healing after surgery. Scabs may fall off, especially when showering. This is not a cause for concern. Despite how large the fallen scab tissue may be, it is not an indication that the nipple has fallen off. Underneath there will be a new, healing nipple.
