The GCC Welcomes Dr. Eric Lin to our Team!

The Gender Confirmation Center (GCC) is excited to announce that Dr. Eric Lin (he/him) is joining our team in our San Francisco office! Dr. Lin is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with about 30 years of experience offering chest and breast reconstruction surgeries.

Who is Dr. Eric Lin?

Dr. Lin was born in Taiwan, after which he immigrated with his family to Southern California. He tells us that this is where he “learned the value of diversity.” He went on to complete his MPH and MD at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. Later, he completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.

After living and working in SoCal for several years, he’s excited to practice in San Francisco. He tells us that the “Bay Area is an even better version, with welcoming people, natural beauty, and amazing food!”

When he’s not in the clinic serving patients, Dr. Lin loves to spend quality time with his family and their pomeranian. He and his family enjoy playing cards, staying in to watch rom-coms, traveling and trying new cuisines.

What is Dr. Lin’s Approach to Surgery?

Whether treating breast cancer or top surgery patients, Dr. Lin’s commitment is simple. As a surgeon, what he values most is getting to know his patients’ needs and perspectives to be able to best serve them.

Dr. Lin believes first and foremost in ensuring that his patients are treated with dignity and respect at every stage of the surgical process. Especially working with trans and non-binary patients––many of whom have negative experiences in healthcare––Dr. Lin strives to give our communities a better, warmer, and more personable experience.

Dr. Lin explains his philosophy working with patients: “Treat others as I would want my family to be treated. We aim for patients to feel heard and help them decide on the best option to achieve their goals, ultimately to see that they are happy with their choice.”

Dr. Lin told us about our founder, Dr. Mosser’s reputation as having “of emphasizing meeting patient needs in their gender care journey, and it’s a privilege to be part of this devoted team.”

We asked Dr. Lin what he likes about practicing gender-affirming care and he said: “Patients typically have been on their journey for many years, and surgery frequently is towards the end for their affirmation. Sharing their joy, even during early recovery, has been one of the most rewarding experiences in plastic surgery.”

Dr. Lin’s Additional Qualifications

Dr. Lin is incredibly experienced in the field of breast and chest reconstruction surgery. He is active as a post-cancer reconstructive surgeon and also works as a Clinical Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the California Northstate University, College of Medicine. He is a member of the California Medical Association (CMA), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Medical Association (AMA).
